Had to start from scratch with the 4.86 HFW update install on USB and do hen again. I pulled the hard drive and put one of the scalped ones in, put the other in a usb case. Went good for about a week and then went corrupt again. It ran the repair like 10 times before I gave up and reformatted, had to start everything over.
Finally figured out the psn thing with downloading pinball and psn putting the act.dat file on my system. Took a while to get HFW and HEN going and then spent a whole day trying to get Mass effect package to run. She gave me a couple old laptops too and I scalped hard drives from them, good thing. Mother in law gave me old ps3 a couple weeks ago, 250gb. Let me know if that route works, I'm new to this too. I use ps3splitter too, but haven't tried it to see if it'll regroup a PKG file. I gotta get back to Salvador on borderlands 2, have fun! Reformat USB to fat32, make exdata folder, put rap file in, change user to aa, run Reactpsn with USB in and there you go. When it's done copying, hold ps button, normal menu, quit game. You'll see your huge PKG file, highlight it and press triangle, select copy or move, confirm the transfer is correct on popup menu, go get a snack and use the bathroom, it's gonna be a few minutes. Access HDD000 in the other window and go to the "packages" directory. Use one to access USB(says something long like NTFS USB. Use irisman, hit start after it loads, menu pops up, hit "tools". Format USB in NTFS and copy big PKG file. Irisman has a game load screen, but you need the tools. Multiman likes to quit working if ever anything goes wrong with a load or install and I find deleting it and reinstalling the PKG is the fix. I keep a copy of multiman, IRISMAN, Reactpsn, and Webman in my hdd000\packages folder for quick installs. some folks say multiman will handle NTFS, but I have had trouble with it and with multiman in general. Some PKG are bigger than the 4gb that fat32 can handle. From there any time you get a pkg and rap, install PKG, then run react form the aa account with the file in exdata on USB. After that initial install of React, Ihad to go back to aa once more and run it again to successfully sign my rap files and make my games work. Don't use the user folder React, or aa to install games use your user name. Make user aa again, this time it'll stay when you use React. You should have a new user named react and your aa user will be gone. Screen should go blank for a few seconds, then ps3 restarts. Have your rap files in exdata folder on USB. Make that account name aa, yes, 2 lower case a's.
